The Adventure

We adopted Eliot “Ellie” Dwyer, as a three-month-old baby pupper, in September 2018. Back when I worked downtown, I regularly skimmed local pet adoption pages in my free time. Dangerous game, am I right? Needless to say, when I saw this cute blonde floof, I fell in love and immediately sent the posting to David.

The rest is history, really. We filled out the application, took Rory to meet her future sister at the Petsmart adoption event, and drove home with two golden doggos. The pictures in her adoption book are all from the day we met her. The kind 4 Paws 2 Love foster folks shared some photos they took during our meet and greet and the others were backyard snaps from our first afternoon as a two pup family.

With only 42 images, a softcover book was the best option. I grouped the lower resolution cell phone images and placed the larger pictures from my DSLR on stand-alone pages. The book turned out wonderfully, and I love flipping through and remembering just how little our baby floof was when we got her. I remember holding her in my arms on our first evening together and telling her to stay little forever. As with most commands, she didn't listen and is now TWICE her adoption size. She loves jumping around, eating cheddar bunnies, trying to get Rory to play, and snuggling with humans at all times.
