Rick Steves is our favorite tour guide when it comes to European adventures. We scour his books before traveling, and plan our days around the three triangles, or "don't miss" attractions. While we often look touristy sitting in a coffee shop, reading a guide book, and planning our next stop, the books serve as our roadmaps for adventure.
Bonus: If you procrastinate for a couple of years before creating a photo book, those very same Rick Steves books double as a handy outline of the forgotten sights and details from your adventure.
The Adventure
It's no secret I love the Royal Family and dedicated a whole spread to Canongate Kirk (where the Queen attends church), and the Palace of Holyroodhouse (where the Queen stays when visiting). We stopped for a snack in the cafe, and look at that coffee! Not pictured: a less impressive brownie and a piece of shortbread. While delicious, the sweet treats didn't have a crown overlay.
A spread from our walk around the city (Balmoral on the left and Scott Monument on the right). We climbed to the very top, of course, and snapped a few photos of our view:
Lastly, the below church is St. Giles' Cathedral. I ADORE layflat photo books.
After our time in Edinburgh, David and I took a train to London for Wimbledon! I created a second book and can't wait to look back and share those memories.
As always, thank you for stopping by!
