What Is a layflat photo book?
Today marks the start of a fresh new series on The Photo Book Project blog! Instead of sharing photo edits, and pieces from our adventure journal, I'm going to answer a few frequently asked questions. Today's post focuses on our layflat book pages because every single Photo Book Project, regardless of size and cover preference, includes one twenty-page/ten spread layflat album.
Let's get to it — layflat photo books allow for a seamless panoramic spread of images. Unlike magazines and traditional hardcover novels, layflat books do not have a gutter, or stitching, down the middle.

With layflat pages, we can also add images across the centerfold of the book without any distortion. I've intentionally printed our faces across the middle to confirm. :)

You've likely come across a layflat pages when perusing wedding albums. At The Photo Book Project, all albums, regardless of the occasion, feature seamless, layflat, pages.
Sidenote: our wedding album is NOT layflat. I'm considering creating a second book for a side-by-side comparison. What do you think? How many wedding albums is TOO many, really?
